My last day at NPR proves to be my busiest day at NPR.  So far I have engineered 5 interviews today...the majority were for WATC but I just finished one with Scott Simon and the two stars from the new movie "Open Water"(would italicize but i dont know html).  An awesome interview and it will be on Weekend Edition tomorrow morning so please stay tuned... I absolutely hate sharks and they scare me to no end but I will now attend this movie.

I dont really see a reason to continue updating this anymore so this will be my last entry.  I hope all who have been reading it have enjoyed my travels and my summer.  Thanks to the professors who paid attention and to the feedback i have received from my friends.  I will never forget this job.

cheers and God bless,

Casey Michael Parkin

Well this is my last week here at NPR.  Not sure what the spring will bring(pardon the rhyme) but I am going to start sending out resume's and hopefully I can land a job somewhere.  Tomorrow morning I am going to head over to DC101(biggest radio station in DC) and hang out with their morning show(Elliot in the Morning).  I want to try to see how all of the different stations work.  Next Wednesday I am going to most likely hang out with a guy from Maryland Public Television at their headquarters in Bmore.  He does post audio for documentaries and it should be a good experience to see that side of the biz too.

Yesterday I passed my engineering test so now I am an official NPR employee.  Other than that the week has been slow.  The debut of IE was a little bit of a let down, my piece was cut a little short... so the continuity was a little lacking but other than that things came together well.  I also did the music placement and the old swing tune called "La Dolce Vita" was not used bummer(que smile).  One more week here, very bittersweet.
